Socio-medical Centre, Lebanon

This grant is to help maintain the quality of services in the Lebanese Association of the Order’s Social-medical Centre in Barqa, a very poor area of Lebanon where there has been an influx of 214 000 Syrian refugees.

This represents 29% of the population in the area. The centre’s provision ranges from social and healthcare visits for the elderly, to gynaecological and paediatric services, to medicals for students and disabled children. The grant represents approximately a quarter of operating costs.
