The Daasanach community live in the remote district of Illeret, Kenya, only accessible by rough tracks and 400km from the nearest tarmac road. The community have a traditional, semi-nomadic way of life, which relies heavily on their environment. Centuries of neglect has left them without basic infrastructure or access to healthcare, and has increased their reliance on the land. They have been forgotten.

Malteser International has been helping this community since 2012, and, supported by a grant from the Fund, is providing access to health care and nutritional services.
