The Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta run a summer camp for 15 Belarusian children from a village about 230 km from the capital Minsk. The village in which these children’s live was hit by the effect of the disastrous explosion of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant and unfortunately it is still suffering from the destructive effects of the radiation.

The camp gives the children the opportunity for 30 days away from their home environment to strengthen their physical and mental condition. The camps include sporting and cultural activities, as well as healthcare, to promote recovery from the radiation exposure.
