Tackling Leprosy, Niger

There is still the presence of leprosy in Niger, and it is imperative to continue the care of people who have already been treated but are still suffering the consequences of this debilitating disease.

The Health and Leprosy Centre in Maradi will help those with no access to healthcare and those suffering from leprosy.

The new centre anticipates to treat 450 ancient leprosy patients a year, with 50% of these being under the age of 15. The Centre will also organises leprosy screenings through the use of an outreach mobile clinic.
