This project aims to foster access to education for 12 Roma children from 7 to 14 years old, to enhance their self-esteem, motivation and involvement, and through this, to improve their living conditions. The Romanian Relief Service provides them with a secure environment where these children are accepted and can develop their abilities and learning skills. On top of afterschool support (homework, reading support, writing and counting), non-formal education is also a focus to help those children from socially and economically disadvantaged families, particularly in the topical context of school drop-out. The grant will cover the costs of educational materials and trips, transport of the beneficiaries and volunteers involved in this project, salary of the project coordinator, and part of the operating costs linked to the project (internet, phone, gas, electricity, and water expenses).
